Leachco Podster vs Boppy Lounger – Which is Best? (Comparison Review)

In my view, the best loungers can be narrowed down to the Leachco Podster Sling-Style Infant Lounger and the Boppy Newborn Lounger. No doubt, both are amazing for your little one’s comfort but my vote goes to Leachco Podster. It has all the advantages of the Boppy and none of the problems, making the Podster an all-encompassing product.

What is Important to baby loungers are a must-have
Leachco came as an improvement to the Boppy when the Leachco Podster was introduced. Mostly it does incorporate everything that the Boppy was lacking. Even if we talk about the heightwise, the head resting area is slightly taller than the Boppy’s.
Especially since you can prop the baby in there without having to worry as much about spit-ups, the added height is welcomed with open arms. Moreover, it is extremely helpful for the baby’s digestion process to be at an elevated angle, Definitely a win-win.
A couple of things to keep in mind while using a baby lounger:
- Especially if napping never leave the baby unsupervised
- It’s not highly recommended for long naps
- Always try to keep the baby face up to avoid
- Limited tummy time just on the lounger
Now as we all know what precautions to take as parents, let’s take a quick look at the incredible components that the lounger has to make it uber useful. For your little one both the Podster and Boppy are great pillows and follow each of the above requirements. Ultimately, one is a little more than the other as I compare the two.

Leachco Podster vs Boppy Lounger: Similarities & Differences
Hands-Free Life
The possibilities are unlimited. Such as, you can eat, go to the bathroom, do household chores, or even sit down, hands-free. Meanwhile, the baby wonders why you have tears of happiness in your eyes.
Ultimately, Boppy and Podster nailed the hands-free aspect completely.
Portable
The Podster is slightly larger than Boppy (whereas both loungers weigh the same) in size and if you want you can use the adjustment tab to carry it. But I wouldn’t really recommend it though. Because that would make the tabs loosen up and would not let you change the level of support. However, you can still pop it in your luggage or in the car trunk while you are planning to go on vacation. The exciting part is that both the loungers can be taken anywhere and placed anywhere just as long it’s a flat surface.
I would say the Boppy serves the portability factor a little better than the Podster.
Comfortable
The key concern will be the baby rolling or sliding down over the pillow. In general, it is strictly recommended to be used by babies who are not able to push themselves off the floor yet so the chances of that happening are low, but it doesn’t mean it’s non-existent and that’s a risk no one should take.
Mostly, that’s one of the reasons Leachco Podster has contoured sides. Also, it helps to give a tight snug fit in the lounger whilst still being soft, comfortable, and cushiony. The lounger is made of cotton material so it’s not a slippery fabric. In fact, you essentially have a second layer of security if you can choose a plush fabric that also acts as an anti-slip agent.
On the other hand, Boppy Lounger is much firmer and sturdier. More so, It has a polyester blend fabric that’s sewn tight on the pillow. That occurs the surface to be slightly slippery. Preemies, small babies, and even newborns may pose a risk of slipping or sliding down the pillow.
Easy to Adjust
The Podster also has a sling-style seat, based on the baby’s weight which helps provide a customized support. As the baby grows older, the stretchy sling dips in the lounger prevent the little one from rolling out and give the baby more space.
In contrast, the Boppy Lounger cannot be adjusted but for infants up to 16 pounds in weight it does provide as much support as the Podster.
The suggested age to use both the Lounger and the Podster is up to 4 months old or till the little one is able to push him/herself up, whichever comes sooner. Although, because of its own size the Podster works better for taller babies.
Elevated View
Moreover, after a feeding, this level of incline helps immensely with the digestive system. The tiny uniqueness between the two is that the Podster is just a little bit higher.
Easy to Clean
On the other hand, one of the best features of the Podster is its removable cover. In case there are any messes, (and which definitely will be!) you can just slip it off and throw just the cover in the machine washer. It’s recommended to dry at low heat and wash it on a warm gentle cycle. For the real pillow, you can spot clean it.
The plethora of machines may even find the loungers are too big to fit in. Convenience-wise, the Podster is much better since you only need to take the cover off without needing to wash the whole lounger.
Adorable Prints
Despite having the same appearance as breastfeeding pillows, these loungers will not be of much help as breastfeeding pillows. Because they are too bulky for that. For feeding processes like snacks, the loungers may come to guidance and even for supervised bottle feed but that’s about it.
Hence, both are amazing in propping the baby in place while you get some much-needed R&R or you know, pictures for Instagram since the baby won’t be moving much.
Return Policy and Warranty
In contrast, Boppy Lounger also has a 30-day refund policy and also comes with a limited warranty.
Accessories
While for the Leachco Podster you can purchase an extra cover, right on their website or from other retailers.
A number of parents have complained about the subpar quality of the Leachco Podster covers. Some of them have mentioned the covers are so thin that stains go right through the pillow, it keeps tearing off and ripping and the zipper falls off.
I always recommend getting an extra cover just in case. Or just use a cushion or towel on it, so it’ll be much simpler to clean, especially for worse or spit-ups, or diaper blowouts.
Material
It’s also said on their official website that their manufacturing process starts in China. But they are reducing their carbon footprint by doing the fulfillment, packaging, and shipping from US factories by investing some effort.
The Leachco Podster, by contrast, does not contain PBDE or flame retardants. Its material is 35% cotton and 65% polyester.

When You Should Start and Stop Use Best Baby Lounger?
You should keep in mind that loungers would make your life simpler by holding and entertaining your young ones while you are dealing with daily responsibilities for Leachco Podster vs Boppy Lounger.
If you are wondering whether to buy this particular addition, you should know when to use it and when you should do it. You should read out several factors such as:
Weight – Remember that every single baby lounger comes with certain guidelines that will help you determine its weight capacity. Also, the upper weight limit can reach up to 16 pounds, but it can vary from child to child. Meanwhile, you have to refer to the specification before you make up your mind.
Age – The ideal age for having or using a baby lounger depends on the guide you will get with it. But It can range from a few weeks to a few months based on the guidelines and your baby’s weight.
Development and Growth – As we all know every single baby grows uniquely and reaches developmental milestones at different periods. Some will sit up without guidance by the fifth month, while others will achieve the same goal in the seventh month. Thus, you should check the development of your baby, and if it tries to climb out, it means that it overgrew.
